Turnover is a expensive issue facing many organizations.  The cost of training and the time required to develop employees to a level where they can effectively function in the organization is huge and significantly impacts the bottom line.
 
Many generation "X" and "Y" people are entering the workforce with a different skill set, attitude and value system and many organizations are having difficulty adapting to this dramatic change.  When traditional control approaches are used to force conformance, these people in many cases will opt to leave the organization in search of an organization that will be more understanding of their needs and that will tap into their ability to contribute.
